Whether you are planning to open a brand-new laser tag attraction or you are ready to upgrade your current attraction, there are many factors to consider when shopping for laser tag equipment. You want your equipment to be exciting, durable, and easy-to-use, as well as options for dynamic and interactive arena options. Having the right equipment is important, but its also just one piece of the puzzle.

The provider you work with and the quality of services they offer is also a pivotal to the success and profitability of your laser tag attraction. There are many factors to look out for when shopping for an equipment provider. Let’s take a look at some red flags to consider.

Annual License Fees

When making any substantial purchase, it is important to understand the big picture when it comes to pricing. For many laser tag providers, the up-front costs are just a starting point, not inclusive of all recurring fees you will pay throughout the lifetime of your system.

Annual license fees are common with many laser tag equipment manufacturers. Often times, you may end up paying thousands of dollars every year for the life of your attraction just in licensing fees. Overtime, this can really add up.

At LaserBlast, we charge a one-time license fee up front, giving you a full understanding of exactly what you will be paying for your attraction. Software updates are also free for life so when we make improvements or release a new game format, you always have access to those updates.

Support Subscriptions

Reliable customer support is essential to keep your attraction running smoothly. We believe that something as important as excellent support should be standard and should never come with additional charges, which is why we do not have support subscriptions for hourly phone and web support fees. Our support team provides everything from standard phone and web support, to after-hours emergency support, all at no additional cost.

Exclusive Warranties

When you purchase a laser tag system, you should have the peace-of-mind knowing that you are not going to be required to pay anything else out of pocket before you see a positive ROI. Most laser tag operators see a positive ROI in their first year, but just to be sure, we offer an all-inclusive 30-Month warranty on our CyberBlast Pro system.

It is important to be knowledgeable about what your laser tag warranty covers, as many exclude important components such as plastic cases or batteries.

Forced Upgrades

Laser tag equipment is always evolving. When we started LaserBlast in 1997, we certainly did not have touchscreen phasers with built-in selfie cameras. All laser tag equipment providers make changes and updates over time, but what does this mean for customers that are still utilizing old systems?

It is not uncommon for equipment providers to stop supporting old systems after 5-10 years. Customers with those old systems can find themselves in a difficult position, as they may be forced to upgrade to a new system even if they do not want to at that time.

Overtime, we have optimized and gone through several renditions of laser tag equipment. Though we have retired our old systems, we never stop supporting them. We have customers that are still running equipment they purchased almost 20 years ago.

Most of our customers choose to upgrade after 7-10 years due to regular wear and tear and for the new equipment features. We know that all businesses are unique and feel that it is important for you to upgrade your equipment on your own terms, at a time that works best for you.

Extra Installation Charges

After you purchase your equipment, you should have the peace-of-mind that it will be installed accurately by skilled, friendly, and knowledgeable Installation Managers and that there will not be any surprise fees. We provide a fixed rate for installation that is inclusive of travel and accommodations so you will not see any unexpected adjustments.

We are also happy to help with things like custom themed sounds and DMX programming, even if you did not purchase your DMX package from us. We want to leave you feeling comfortable and ready to run a top notch attraction!

On the other hand, if you would prefer to install the product yourself, we can waive the installation fee and provide you with resources to help guide you through the process and of course, answer questions along the way.

If you are looking to open a laser tag attraction or upgrade an existing attraction, we encourage you to consider these items, in addition to the quality of the actual product. Factors such support and fees can make a big difference over time when running your attraction. We would love to speak to you further about what we could do for your laser tag attraction.
