Did you know that your CyberBlast Pro system comes with over 30 different types of game formats? With all those options available, there is a lot of potential leverage a variety of game formats to boost traffic and provide a premium guest experience.

Some game formats lend better to certain circumstances than others, so it is important to know how to maximize your game format options without causing confusion for guests or staff. Keep reading to learn some strategies to get the most out of your game formats.

Sometimes You Need to Keep it Simple

Certain times lend better than others to try out more specific game formats with your guests. Busy nights and weekends are generally not that time. When you have a crowd, it is important to focus on maximizing throughput. For your laser tag games, this means sticking to the basics of standard Team and Free for All game formats.

These are the games all players are familiar with, new players can pick up easily, and everyone can have a great time playing. This leads us to the question, when is it a good time to utilize all those different game formats that are available?

There are many scenarios in which you can leverage game format variety to boost foot traffic and add value for guests. Let’s take a look at a few ideas.

Add Value to Corporate Events & Birthday Parties

Consider listing access to specialized game formats as a perk of your laser tag party packages. This is an easy way to create more opportunity for customization of your party packages with next to no effort on your side.

You could even recommend specific game formats based on the type of event.  An office party might want to play more team specific games for team building, while it might make sense to suggest more video-game like games, such as King of the Hill, Sniper and respawn centered game formats to a group of teenagers. Smaller groups playing alone might enjoy game formats that utilize the arena more, such as target-centered game formats. There are even Birthday Team and Birthday Free For All formats available that are perfect for younger birthday parties.

While this is not necessarily going to be the deciding factor in someone scheduling a party at our center, these types of offerings can create an extra special experience for guests leading to more positive reviews, word of mouth referrals, and returning customers.

Turn Your Varied Game Formats into a Special Event

Special events can be a great way to boost foot traffic, especially on your lower traffic nights. You can create events around your specialized game formats that require minimal effort and are easy to advertise around your store and on social media.

Offer a specific game format that is not regularly available at your FEC, let’s say Capture the Flag for example, on a slower night during the week and create excitement around it drive foot traffic.

Maybe Tuesday is your Capture the Flag event – market this as an opportunity to play this exciting “new” laser tag game that guests don’t get to play every day. Consider throwing in a deal with it, such as unlimited play for a certain time period at a specified price. Sweeten the deal and increase your per capita spending by offering food or beverage specials during that time. Boost the excitement by offering a small prize to the winner each round (this could be a free laser tag game on their next visit to get them back in). The possibilities are endless.

Take Your Events to the Next Level with Special Themes

Many of our game formats can tie in well with a variety of different holidays, events, seasons, and more. The further you extend your creativity, the increasingly unique themes you will come up with.

Showcase your Dracula and Zombie formats during the Halloween season for spooky themed events. Rabbit could lend well to an Easter themed party. The Survivor game format could be used to create an event centered around the hit TV show.

All of these can be paired with some on-theme décor, prizes, food and drink offerings, trivia, and more to organize something special that guests will want to make sure they attend! What unique themes can you think of based off the CyberBlast Pro game formats?

Boost Your Membership Program

If you offer a membership program at your FEC, hosting Member’s Nights with exclusive access to varied game formats is a great way to add value to that program and encourage membership.

Member’s Nights could be hosted weekly on a typically lower foot traffic night, monthly at a set cadence (such as the 1st Tuesday of every month), or at any cadence that seems most fit for your fun center. Advertise what specialized game formats you will offer each members night. If you aren’t sure where to start, consider surveying your members to see what types of games they are most interested in playing.

Consider looping in other member specific offers to sweeten the deal. Creating these exclusive access nights can help get more people interested in membership and will likely lead to existing members encouraging friends and family to join so they have someone to attend with.
