Headed to the IATP 2023 Conference & Trade Show? We’d love to see you at Booth #213!

When you hear about the idea of trampoline park with laser tag, you might be picturing a group of kids jumping on trampolines and waving around laser tag phasers in the air…don’t worry, that is not what we are here to talk about!

More trampoline parks are adding on a laser tag attraction at their facility to bring in additional traffic and increase revenue. Trampoline and adventure parks combine perfectly with laser tag for a variety of reasons. Let’s take a closer look.

Help Fight Excessive Screentime

In 2018, the CDC reported that kids ages 8-18 are spending about 114 full days a year in front of a screen (cdc.gov). Parents everywhere are battling to get their kids out from behind a screen and doing more physical activity. Jumping on a trampoline and playing laser tag are two great forms of hidden exercise; they can both burn calories and increase heart rate without participants feeling like they are going out of their way to exercise.

Fun activities like these are great for getting kids, teens, and families off the couch and being more physical. By adding additional active attraction options, you can keep guests engaged and moving for longer. Additionally, keep in mind that all this physical activity can really work up an appetite, helping to increase food and beverage sales.

Appeal to a Wider Audience

When it comes to FECs, more options attract new customers, keep guests in your facility longer, and increase per capita spending. A laser tag attraction is a great way to get new people in the door that might not have otherwise ever stopped by your facility. Additionally, if they come for the laser tag there is a good chance that they will end up partaking in other activities at your center or purchasing food and beverages.

Trampoline parks also tend to attract a younger demographic and while laser tag is loved by younger folks as well, it also attracts a good number of teens and adults too. A laser tag attraction could be a great way to bring in an older demographic than who you normally service, which opens your center to a lot more people.

Parents and grandparents accompanying their children will also be more likely to join in on a laser tag game than join in on the jumping, creating a better opportunity for fun that includes the entire family. Now, instead of just paying for their kids to participate, parents are paying for themselves to get in on the fun too.

Build Better Birthday Parties

Adding new attractions can help to increase your birthday party bookings and encourage rebooking in following years. The more options you have, the more value adds you can offer to draw in more additional parties.

If your birthday parties are generally 2 hours long with 90 minutes of jump time, you can adjust that 2 hours to include 60 minutes of jump time and 1-2 laser tag games. Guests will feel like they are getting more value because of the additional attraction without it costing anything additional for you to provide.

On the other hand, you can also offer full trampoline and full laser tag party packages, with the option to add on the other attraction for an additional cost. The separate party packages can also encourage bookings at your facility multiple years in a row because guests can book back-to-back years while still having a different experience each time. If you offer more than they can do in one visit, they will have more of a reason to return.

Increase Inclusivity

While trampoline parks are fun for many, handicaps and other physical limitations could prevent certain individuals from enjoying them. Laser tag is accessible to just about everyone ages 6-96 and beyond.

Laser tag arenas are wheelchair accessible, easier to access for people with mobility issues, and can still be used by individuals that may have injuries that would limit them from enjoying trampolines, ropes courses, climbing walls, etc. Adding a laser tag attraction helps make sure that no one gets left out due to a physical limitation.

Additionally, it can encourage parents and grandparents to get involved. You likely won’t see Grandma jumping on the trampolines with her grandkids, but she can certainly join in on a game of laser tag. Though it is still involves physical activity, walking around a laser tag arena is far less taxing on bad knees, necks, and backs than jumping on trampolines. It’s also less likely to result in injuries that may deter older or less physically fit guests.

Family sitting and standing around couch together

Laser tag is the perfect-for-all-ages game that compliments traditional trampoline and adventure park attractions perfectly. Adding additional attractions creates an opportunity to attract more guests, keep guests in your facility longer, and bring them back for more visits.

A laser tag attraction is an ideal addition because of how well it lends to guests of all ages and abilities and how easy it is to run and maintain. It pairs well with trampoline and adventure parks because it falls into the same physical activity category of FEC attraction while still being different enough to attract additional traffic.
